In the first quarter of 2021, the iOS platform saw notable performances from leading music and podcasts applications in Latin America. Sensor Tower provides detailed insights into the trends of these apps, highlighting the engagement and financial metrics that shaped the start of the year.

Spotify - Music and Podcasts maintained its popularity with a steady trend in downloads, ranging from 180K to 200K. Weekly active users started at 9.1M and dipped to around 8.8M before rebounding to nearly 9M by the end of the quarter. Revenue experienced fluctuations, peaking at $14K and closing the quarter at around $9K.

The Offline Music Player,Mp3,Audio app showed growth in downloads, starting at approximately 37K and rising to over 84K. Weekly active users saw a significant upward trend, increasing from 71K to 255K. Although the app's revenue was negligible in the beginning, it demonstrated a gradual increase throughout the quarter, ending with $238.

YouTube Music reported strong revenue numbers, starting at $120K and experiencing a mid-quarter peak at nearly $149K, with a slight decrease to $131K by the end of Q1. Downloads for the app showed a declining trend, from 69K down to around 59K. However, weekly active users increased from 3.3M to over 3.5M.

Apple's own Shazam: Find Music & Concerts app saw a steady range of downloads, between 47K and 53K. Active users initially decreased from 4.9M to 4.6M but recovered to 4.8M by the quarter's end. The app's revenue remained relatively low, hovering around $180 throughout the period.

Lastly, eSound - MP3 Music Player App experienced varied download numbers, with a notable spike in March reaching 97K. Weekly active users followed an upward trajectory, starting at 253K and rising to 376K in March before a slight decline to 353K. Revenue for eSound showed gradual growth, starting at $468 and reaching $759 by the close of Q1.
